Job Summary
Smoke is a contemporary café and wine bar situated on Princess Street in Knutsford, the second site from the team behind the successful site on Water Lane in Wilmslow. Linked to The Cheshire Smokehouse and continuing their ethos of offering ‘real food’ and will continue supporting other high quality local food and drink producers.
Smoke is open 7 days a week serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening food along with a range of the best wines, beers and spirits from both local small-batch breweries and continental specialists.
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to work in our kitchen. We serve breakfasts and brunch from 8am, as well as a popular lunchtime menu, with our evening menu starting at 4pm. All menus change regularly and every member of staff can have an input and bring their ideas to our food.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal and food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring consistency and quality standards are maintained
- Help with food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with cooking techniques and meal preparation processes is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
- Experience in serving customers or working in a fast-paced kitchen environment will be beneficial
- Enthusiasm for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role
