Primary Teaching Assistant Job – Walton-on-Thames
New Road Education is recruiting a dedicated and caring Primary School Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Key Stage 1 (KS1) at a welcoming primary school in Walton-on-Thames.
This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role starting in September 2026, ideal for candidates with experience supporting children in primary schools, SEN settings, or early years environments.
Role Overview
- Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil in the classroom
- Help the child engage with learning and daily school activities
- Support emotional, social, and academic development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Assist with behaviour management and differentiated learning tasks
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience working with children (school, nursery, care, or youth work)
- Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic
- Has an interest in SEN (Special Educational Needs) support
- Is reliable and committed to a long-term role
- Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Ideally available for ad-hoc supply days before the end of the current academic year
