FIXED TERM POST - SIX MONTHS
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trust Doctor to join our General Medicine team, providing dedicated medical care to outlier patients who are admitted to non-medical wards. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting patient flow across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, investigation, treatment and ongoing management of a diverse range of acute medical conditions, working closely with consultant physicians, ward teams, therapists and discharge coordinators to ensure safe and timely care.
This post offers excellent clinical experience across a broad spectrum of general medicine, with opportunities for professional development, teaching and participation in quality improvement activities. We are looking for a doctor with strong clinical and communication skills, a flexible and collaborative approach, and a commitment to providing outstanding care for patients throughout their hospital journey.
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of General Medical patients
To prepare and manage medical patients placed on surgical wards .
Monitor and offer advice for those on the virtual ward
To focus on early discharge to the virtual ward/Acute Care at Home etc.
Actively encourage and innovate alternative methods of support to encourage early and safe discharge from the medical wards
Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students where applicable.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
