About the Role
Palestine Aid is looking for an organised and creative Marketing Manager to lead the planning and coordination of our marketing activity.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for making sure our campaigns, social media, emails, videos, reports, and donor communications are clear, professional, consistent, and effective.
This person will not be expected to personally design everything, write everything, build the website, or edit every video. Instead, they will manage the marketing workplan and coordinate with the content writer, graphic designer, video creation team, website support, field teams, volunteers, and delivery partners to make sure work is completed to a high standard.
The role is ideal for someone who understands charity marketing, fundraising campaigns, digital content, donor engagement, and how to turn humanitarian work into strong public communications.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Marketing Manager will help Palestine Aid:
- Build a strong and consistent brand.
- Plan and deliver effective fundraising campaigns.
- Improve donor communication and supporter engagement.
- Coordinate content across social media, email, website, reports, and videos.
- Work with creative teams to produce professional marketing materials.
- Ensure all content is accurate, dignified, safeguarding-conscious, and donor-focused.
- Keep the marketing department organised, structured, and accountable.
Key Responsibilities1. Marketing Planning and Coordination
- Create and manage the weekly and monthly marketing workplan.
- Coordinate tasks across the content writer, graphic designer, video team, website support, and social media team.
- Lead or attend weekly marketing meetings.
- Track progress on campaign tasks and deadlines.
- Make sure each campaign has clear messaging, content, graphics, videos, emails, and reports.
- Report regularly to senior management on progress, results, and priorities.
2. Campaign Management
- Plan marketing activity for major campaigns and appeals.
- Develop campaign themes, taglines, key messages, and content ideas.
- Coordinate campaign pages, email campaigns, social media posts, videos, and paid ads.
- Make sure campaign materials are ready on time.
- Work with programme and field teams to collect project updates, photos, videos, and impact information.
- Ensure campaigns are clear, emotional, accurate, and donor-friendly.
3. Branding and Design Coordination
- Maintain Palestine Aid’s brand identity across all marketing materials.
- Help develop and use brand guidelines.
- Ensure all graphics, reports, videos, emails, and website content follow the correct brand style.
- Work with the graphic designer to produce templates for campaigns, social media, reports, flyers, presentations, and events.
- Review designs before publication to make sure they are professional and consistent.
- Help create guidance on tone of voice and appropriate AI use in marketing.
4. Content and Copy Coordination
- Work closely with the content writer to plan and review written content.
- Ensure all campaign copy, captions, emails, website text, reports, and donor updates are clear and accurate.
- Make sure the tone of voice is suitable for Palestine Aid.
- Check that statistics, claims, and donor promises are supported by evidence.
- Ensure sensitive content is written with dignity and care.
5. Website and WordPress Support
The Marketing Manager will not be required to manage or build the website directly. However, they should have a good understanding of how WordPress websites work so they can coordinate website-related marketing tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with website support, developers, or agencies to update campaign pages.
- Coordinate website content, images, videos, donation links, and forms.
- Understand basic WordPress page structure, campaign pages, blogs, menus, and updates.
- Check that campaign pages are clear, accurate, and donor-friendly.
- Support SEO improvements by coordinating page titles, headings, keywords, and meta descriptions.
- Coordinate Arabic translation updates where required.
- Ensure website tracking, donation forms, and enquiry forms are working with the relevant technical support.
6. Email Marketing and Donor Communications
- Plan and manage the weekly email marketing schedule.
- Coordinate email campaigns for appeals, updates, events, emergency campaigns, Ramadan, Dhul Hijjah, Nakba Day, and other key dates.
- Work with the content writer and designer to prepare email copy and visuals.
- Review email performance, including open rates, click rates, and donation results.
- Improve thank-you emails, impact updates, campaign follow-ups, and donor journeys.
- Support better communication with regular donors, major donors, and campaign supporters.
7. Social Media Coordination
- Manage the social media posting plan.
- Coordinate daily stories, campaign posts, reels, videos, infographics, and supporter updates.
- Work with the graphic designer and video team to create strong social media content.
- Review captions, designs, and videos before posting.
- Monitor engagement, comments, messages, and supporter feedback.
- Help grow Palestine Aid’s social media presence.
- Ensure social media content is regular, professional, and aligned with campaign goals.
8. Video and Photo Content
- Work with the video creation team to plan and produce campaign videos.
- Coordinate weekly short videos, project updates, deployment videos, orphan stories, and Education Centre recaps.
- Provide clear briefs to video editors and content creators.
- Review video scripts, subtitles, captions, and final edits.
- Work with field teams and partners to collect photos and videos from Gaza, Egypt, and other project areas.
- Ensure all media is respectful, consent-based, and safeguarding-compliant.
9. Field and Partner Content
- Coordinate content from Egypt projects, including orphan stories, Education Centre updates, teacher content, and weekly recaps.
- Coordinate Gaza content, including journalist updates, case studies, project evidence, and beneficiary stories.
- Work with delivery partners to receive regular photos, videos, reports, and impact updates.
- Create simple media guidance for partners and field teams.
- Make sure partner content meets Palestine Aid’s standards before it is used publicly.
10. Media Storage and Evidence
- Help organise Palestine Aid’s Google Drive and marketing folders.
- Ensure photos, videos, reports, graphics, and campaign assets are stored clearly.
- Maintain a raw video and photo archive.
- Keep consent records and evidence linked to the relevant content.
- Maintain a content evidence tracker for statistics, claims, and impact statements.
- Make sure approved content is easy for the team to find and use.
11. Paid Ads Coordination
The Marketing Manager does not need to be a paid ads specialist, but should be able to coordinate paid advertising activity.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with paid ads specialists or agencies on Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Snapchat Ads.
- Make sure ads have suitable campaign pages, graphics, videos, and copy.
- Review weekly ads reports.
- Track performance, donation results, and key learnings.
- Make recommendations to improve campaign performance.
12. Events, Challenges and Influencer Marketing
- Coordinate marketing materials for fundraising events and supporter challenges.
- Prepare flyer templates, challenge pages, emails, and social media content.
- Support event follow-up communications.
- Create and maintain an influencer and ambassador list.
- Prepare outreach templates and campaign content packs.
- Track influencer activity and campaign results.
13. Reports and Impact Updates
- Coordinate monthly impact reports.
- Support campaign reports and partner reports.
- Turn project updates into donor-friendly reports and stories.
- Work with programme and finance teams to verify figures before publication.
- Ensure reports are professional, accurate, visual, and easy for donors to understand.
14. Compliance, Safeguarding and Approval
- Create and manage a clear marketing approval process.
- Ensure all content is checked before publication.
- Make sure content involving children, orphans, vulnerable people, or emergency situations is handled carefully.
- Ensure donor promises are accurate and realistic.
- Make sure all statistics and impact claims are backed by evidence.
- Escalate sensitive content to senior management before use.
- Protect Palestine Aid’s reputation and donor trust.
Person SpecificationEssential
The successful candidate should have:
- Experience in marketing, communications, charity campaigns, fundraising, or digital content.
- Strong organisation and project coordination skills.
- Good understanding of social media, email marketing, campaign planning, and donor communications.
- Good understanding of WordPress websites, even if not personally managing the website.
- Ability to work with content writers, graphic designers, video editors, web developers, agencies, volunteers, and field teams.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to review designs, videos, and campaign materials.
- Good understanding of branding and tone of voice.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple workstreams.
- Attention to detail, especially with facts, figures, claims, and donor promises.
- Understanding of safeguarding, consent, dignity, and ethical storytelling.
Desirable
It would be helpful if the candidate has:
- Experience working in a charity, NGO, humanitarian, or faith-based organisation.
- Experience with Palestine, Gaza, refugee support, orphan support, or emergency relief campaigns.
- Experience using WordPress, Elementor, Canva, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Google Ads, CRM systems, or similar tools.
- Experience coordinating paid advertising campaigns.
- Experience working with Arabic content or translated materials.
- Experience managing photographers, videographers, influencers, or field media teams.
- Experience producing impact reports or donor reports.
