Job Summary
We are seeking an organised and proactive Food & Beverage Coordinator to lead the delivery of food and beverage services at the recently refurbished Haven Lounge & Bar in Crawley Down. This is a hands-on operational role with responsibility for compliance, people management, stock control and commercial performance.
The successful candidate will bring strong hospitality experience, sound judgement and excellent organisational skills, alongside a genuine commitment to providing a welcoming, well-run service that supports the Havens community purpose.
This role is offered on a full-time contract of 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £29,250 per annum.
In addition, there may be opportunities for paid overtime from time to time, subject to operational requirements, providing scope for increased earnings where additional hours are worked.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating food and beverage activity across the Centre.
- Acting as Designated Premises Supervisor and ensuring licensing requirements are met.
- Helping maintain good standards of service, cleanliness and presentation.
- Ensuring food safety, allergen and age-restricted sales requirements are followed.
Team Support
- Organising rotas and day-to-day organisation.
- Helping new and existing staff feel confident in their roles through guidance and training.
- Working positively with colleagues to maintain a friendly, respectful working environment.
Stock and Suppliers
- Ordering stock and working with suppliers to ensure good availability and value.
- Ensuring stock levels remain appropriate with suitable storage and minimal wastage.
- Coordinating menu updates and food offers that suit the Centre and its users.
Financial Awareness
- Helping monitor sales, costs and staffing levels.
- Supporting sensible pricing and ensuring appropriate margins are achieved.
- Working with the Centre Manager and others on promotions and ideas to improve performance.
Planning and Communication
- Liaising with the Centre Manager on budgets, targets and priorities.
- Providing a simple monthly update on food and beverage performance, highlighting what is working well and any issues that need attention.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience in hospitality, catering or food-led environments.
- Personal Alcohol Licence, or ability to pass the test before taking up the role.
- Full driving licence and own vehicle.
- ICT confidence, with experience of software such as Microsoft Office.
- Experience with POS systems or a willingness and ability to learn.
- A sound understanding of food safety and responsible alcohol service.
Desirable
- Experience supporting or supervising staff.
- Experience with EposNow and Deputy.

- Proactive, organised and reliable, with a practical, common-sense approach.
- Approachable and comfortable dealing with customers and colleagues.
- Able to stay calm and positive when things are busy.
- Willing to take responsibility while working collaboratively with others.
