Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patients receive the correct prescriptions and information. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care. This position offers valuable experience within a professional pharmacy environment and plays a vital role in delivering quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and package medicines following prescribed instructions.
- Maintain organised records of medication dispensation and stock levels.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient queries and offering guidance on medication usage.
- Support with medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations.
- Manage stock replenishment, including checking expiry dates and reporting shortages.
- Support patient care initiatives by providing information on over-the-counter products and health advice as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient care and confidentiality.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy assistance or healthcare are advantageous but not essential.
This role is integral to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy services, contributing positively to patient wellbeing and healthcare outcomes.

Monday 9am to 6pm
Tuesday 9am to 6pm
Wednesday 9am to 6pm
Friday 9am to 6pm
Saturday 9am to 4pm
