We're looking for two Welcome & Service Team Members to join our Welcome Team at Clumber Park. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
Salary: £13.25 per hour
Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. Typically rotas are confirmed 3 months in advance, but may be adjusted at short notice depending on operational requirements. You'll be required to work regular weekends and Bank Holidays. We're looking for candidates with full availability over the festive period including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. You'll likely work 2-3 shifts per week, but this isn't guaranteed.
Duration: Fixed term until the end of February 2027

What you'll be doing:Clumber Park is currently the busiest pay-for-entry property the National Trust, with over 750,000 visitors annually, and you’ll be welcoming them. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.
Most days, you'll be welcoming visitors at our Welcome Point, greeting visitors as they arrive in their cars; taking admission, scanning National Trust membership cards and providing information/orientation to them - promoting events, activities and offers to ensure every visitor gets the most out of their visit. You'll also welcome delivery drivers, contractors, volunteers and fellow staff members which supports the smooth running of whole-site operations.
As part of the wider welcome team, you’ll work to target to promote and facilitate new National Trust membership applications and signpost other ways in which visitors can support our charity, including purchasing items from the Second-hand Bookshop or Walled Kitchen Garden produce cart, adding to their pin badge collection, or even leaving a gift in their will.
Some days, you’ll be based at the Information Point in the ‘core’ visitor area; answering visitor queries, facilitating mobility scooter bookings, and completing National Trust membership applications. Other days, you’ll carry our ‘Rover’ duties; this is a ‘mobile engagement’ role involving interacting with visitors who are parked in the wider-parkland, outside of Clumber Park’s designated parking areas, primarily along the verges of Lime Tree Avenue. You’ll engage with visitors parked in these areas to communicate our conservation message and updating them on ongoing changes to parking and access at the property. You'll provide mobile ‘welfare’ support to your fellow Welcome & Service Team Members who are positioned at our remote Welcome Point - facilitating comfort/lunch breaks throughout the day and operational support during busier spells.
You'll occasionally support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year, including some car-parking duties. Working within the wider portfolio team of staff and volunteers you'll deliver outstanding visitor service. You'll also support across the property/portfolio when required.
