About the Role:
As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing essential care and support to individuals in their own homes. You will play a vital role in enabling our clients to live fulfilling and independent lives, while respecting their dignity and privacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assisting with personal hygiene, including washing, bathing, showering, dressing, and grooming.
- Medication Support: Assisting with medication administration, following strict protocols and recording accurately.
- Mobility Assistance: Providing support with moving and handling, including transfers, walking, and using mobility aids.
- Meal Preparation: Planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals according to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Household Tasks: Assisting with light household chores, such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Companionship: Providing companionship and emotional support, engaging in conversation, and participating in activities.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Safeguarding: Recognizing and reporting any concerns regarding the safety and well-being of clients.
- Adherence to Care Plans: Following individual care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective care.
Essential Requirements:
- A genuine passion for providing care and support to others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (desirable, but may not be required depending on location and service needs).
- Willingness to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Desirable Qualities:
- Previous experience in a care setting (although full training will be provided).
