The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be assisting a private household with the search for an experienced and professional Housekeeper to join their team.
The household is set within a beautiful estate and comprises a substantial seven-bedroom farmhouse, along with a variety of additional buildings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous and experienced Housekeeper who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys maintaining a large, high-end home to an exceptional standard. The successful candidate will be confident caring for luxury furnishings, delicate materials and specialist finishes, with a keen eye for detail throughout.
The role will form part of the wider household team, with flexibility and a professional, discreet approach being essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all traditional housekeeping duties to an exceptionally high standard.
- Clean and maintain all areas of the property, ensuring the home is consistently immaculate and well-presented.
- Dust, vacuum, mop and polish throughout the residence.
- Thoroughly clean and maintain bathrooms, kitchen and utility areas.
- Care for high-end furnishings, fixtures, fittings and specialist finishes using appropriate products and techniques.
- Clean internal windows, mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Undertake regular deep-cleaning tasks as required.
- Manage laundry and ironing duties as required.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and monitor household cleaning supplies.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, damage or concerns to the appropriate member of the household or Estate Office.
- Work alongside the wider household team to ensure the smooth running and presentation of the property.
- Flexibility to assist with household cooking and meal preparation as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working as a Housekeeper within a private household or high-end domestic environment.
- Excellent housekeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experienced in caring for luxury furnishings, delicate materials and specialist finishes.
- Trustworthy, discreet and professional, with a strong understanding of confidentiality.
- Well organised, reliable and able to work independently using initiative.
- Physically capable and comfortable with the practical requirements of a large property, including safely using ladders where necessary.
- Flexible and happy to provide additional cover when required.
- Looking for a long-term position within a private household.
Additional Information
- A full driving licence and own vehicle are essential due to the rural location.
- Right to work in the UK and a DBS check will also be required.
Only candidates with relevant private household or high-end domestic housekeeping experience will be considered.
Pay: £46,000.00 per year
