The Centre for Teaching Excellence Strathclyde Research Hub for Innovative Practice in the Strathclyde Institute of Education wishes to appoint a Research Project Administrator to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Hub Team tasked with creating a collaborative network engaged in and with research that impacts meaningfully on classrooms to the benefit of children and young people. The knowledge generated will be cumulative and regularly synthesised and shared through creative teacher-friendly outputs combining existing research with practical real-life examples from Scottish schools. This could be in the form of conferences or workshops (with the emphasis on conferring), multimedia outputs or guides that can be shared on the CfTE and Hub website and through social media. All will be modelled as tools to focus future professional dialogue and practitioner enquiry networks. Inevitably given the Professional Standards teachers have to meet.
As the Hub is extended, then the proposed cycles of enquiry and professional dialogues would be cumulative, with continued focus on themes identified in partnership with teachers, stakeholders and children. The activity would increase emphasis on establishing university-supported practitioner enquiry communities, of a type already enjoyed by Strathclyde Institute of Education. These communities could be within individual schools, across local authorities or nationally spread, for example through subject specialist organisations, depending on need.
This post will be based within Hub team and will be responsible for project administration, supporting Hub events, monitoring financial income and outgoings, and formatting project outputs. They will be supported by the Strathclyde Institute of Education Research & Knowledge Exchange Administrator and will work closely within the Hub team led by Prof Kate Wall.
