Candidates will ideally be AAT/ATT Level 3 qualified or already embarked on further accountancy qualifications. We will also consider candidates qualified by experience and/or not looking to study further.
The firm specialises in providing Accounting and Audit services as well as a large number of added value services to a wide and diverse client base.
The candidate will be confident with all aspects of taxation for a variety of clients, with knowledge of tax regulations and accounting principles. They should have strong organisational skills and be able to pay attention to detail. They will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively; be computer literate with accounting software (Sage 50, Xero preferred) and Microsoft programs (Word and Excel). Knowledge of CCH software is a bonus. They must be able to work well in a team and have excellent communication skills.
Main duties:
- Maintaining up-to-date client records and files; update and securely store client files, both digital and paper, for quick reference and legal compliance
- Collecting and organising financial data from clients.
- Preparing and submitting tax returns to HMRC; accurately complete and file personal and corporate tax returns in line with current HMRC regulations and deadlines.
- Checking documents for accuracy and completeness; review client provided figures, forms and supporting documentation to confirm all information is correct and compliant.
- Monitoring tax deadlines and ensuring timely submissions; maintain a clear schedule of client tax dates, sending reminders and submitting returns ahead of deadlines.
- Assist in resolving tax-related issues and liaising with HMRC when required.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
- Conduct tax research and provide updates on changes to tax legislation.
Pay is commensurate with experience. Our normal hours of work are 36 per week. Part-time or job share will be considered.
