22.5 hours per week | September 2026 – January 2027
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Temporary Display Assistant to join our busy Visual Display team at Barkers Department Store. This seasonal role will support the team in creating eye-catching displays and transforming the store for the Christmas season, helping to deliver a magical shopping experience for our customers.
Working alongside our Visual Display team, you'll assist with the preparation, installation and maintenance of displays throughout the store. From painting props and decorating Christmas trees to dressing windows and creating inspiring shop floor displays, you'll play an important part in bringing our festive vision to life.
The role is 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, with additional hours available to meet the needs of the business.
Start date: Monday 7th September 2026.
- Assist with the preparation and installation of visual displays throughout the store.
- Paint, prepare and maintain display props and materials.
- Help install and decorate Christmas trees, window displays and seasonal shop floor displays.
- Support the Visual Display team in creating engaging and inspiring customer experiences.
- Carry out manual handling and lifting as required.
- Work both independently and as part of the wider Display team.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Creative with a keen eye for detail.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- A confident communicator with excellent team working skills.
- Able to work independently when required.
- Physically capable of carrying out lifting and manual tasks.
- A full, clean driving licence is preferred, but not essential.
