Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other refreshments in accordance with company standards
- Handle customer orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring a positive experience
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter, seating area, and food preparation zones in line with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required
- Operate cash registers, process payments accurately, and provide correct change
- Restock supplies and ensure the shop floor is tidy throughout the shift
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold food safety standards
- Support team members during busy periods by sharing responsibilities and maintaining a cooperative attitude
Experience
- Previous barista experience or work within a food service environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety procedures is advantageous
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and cash management
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
