Job Title: Vehicle Technician
Location: Birway Workshop (Part of the Hammonds Group)
Hours: Mon–Fri 8:30am–5:30pm, 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm

Birway, part of the family-run Hammonds Group since 1972, is an independent vehicle service and mechanical repair centre offering Class 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 MOTs.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ vehicle mechanical experience
- Experience with timing belts, clutches, brakes, electrical diagnostics, and general servicing
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong diagnostic skills, methodical thinking, and efficient work ethic
- Positive, customer-focused attitude
- NVQ Level 2+ Vehicle Technician qualification preferred (or equivalent competence)
- MOT qualification desirable but not essential
- Diagnostics/electrical expertise desirable but not essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical faults
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records (job sheets, Vehicle Health Checks, customer documentation)
- Test drive vehicles to ensure quality and safety
- Support team to improve workflow and customer satisfaction
