About Ideal Direct
Ideal Direct is a privately owned, multi-brand consumer products business shipping across the UK, Europe and the US. We own and operate nine brands across categories including pest control, health and wellbeing, homewares, DIY and jewellery, sold primarily through Amazon, eBay, B&Q, TikTok Shop and our own DTC channels.
We're approaching £15m revenue this year, with a clear growth plan to £100m by 2030. Our Rochester warehouse is the engine of that growth, the dispatch hub for our direct-fulfilled UK orders and the inbound and outbound centre for Amazon FBA shipments across UK and Europe.
This is a real opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a fast-growing warehouse operation, work with a supportive Warehouse Manager who needs a strong number two, and build your career as the operation scales.
The role
The Warehouse Supervisor is the day-to-day operational lead of our Rochester warehouse. You'll run the morning and main daytime shift, taking accountability for output, quality, safety and the team on shift, handing over cleanly to the Warehouse Manager for the evening dispatch rush.
You're not a hands-off observer. You're on the floor, working alongside the team, but with clear supervisor responsibility: allocating work, holding standards, training new operatives, dealing with issues as they arise, and making sure the operation hits its daily numbers.
What you'll own
- Running the shift: your shift is 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. You're the senior operational person on site until the Warehouse Manager arrives at 11:00am, and the day-to-day lead through to your handover at 4:30pm.
- Goods-in and inbound: containers, pallets and supplier deliveries booked in, received, checked and put away accurately.
- Pick, pack and dispatch: all channel orders (Amazon FBM, eBay, Shopify, B&Q, TikTok) picked, packed and dispatched to standard, SLAs hit, quality maintained.
- FBA outbound and bulk shipments: daily and weekly FBA shipments prepared, palletised, labelled and ready for carrier collection.
- Team supervision: day-to-day supervision of c. 14 warehouse operatives, task allocation, daily briefings, on-the-floor coaching.
- SOPs and standards: following and enforcing established SOPs, feeding back improvement ideas to the Warehouse Manager.
- Health and safety: real-time H&S compliance on shift, daily checks, safe working practices, manual handling standards.
- Training and onboarding: training new operatives on processes, safety and quality standards.
- Sunday on-call rotation: you'll be on call every second Sunday as the escalation route for the Sunday Team Lead. On-call allowance is £30 per Sunday on call. Activated time is paid at 1.5x hourly equivalent with a one-hour minimum.
