About Grant Instruments
Grant Instruments designs and manufactures precision laboratory equipment for the life sciences sector, with manufacturing operations in the UK and Latvia. Our instruments support scientists and researchers across the globe, and our commercial team is the engine that connects that engineering excellence to the customers who rely on it every day.
The Role
This is a pivotal, customer-facing role at the heart of our commercial operation. As Internal Sales Coordinator, you will be the vital link between Grant Instruments and both our existing customer base and new prospects - driving revenue, nurturing key relationships, and ensuring every customer enquiry is handled with speed, accuracy and care. You will combine proactive outreach with hands-on account management and order processing, making you central to how customers experience our business day to day.
This role suits someone who thrives on variety, enjoys building relationships over the phone and email, and takes pride in getting the details right - from the first enquiry through to a confirmed order.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Customer Outreach
- Conduct outbound calls and emails to existing and prospective customers to generate and develop sales opportunities
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing customer base
- Support wider sales and marketing campaigns with targeted follow-up activity
Key Account Management
- Own and manage a portfolio of key accounts, building strong, lasting relationships
- Act as the primary point of contact for allocated accounts, understanding their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
- Proactively monitor account activity and identify opportunities for growth
Order Entry & Processing
- Accurately process customer orders through to fulfilment, ensuring correct pricing, product codes and delivery details
- Liaise with production, logistics and finance teams to ensure orders are progressed smoothly and customers are kept informed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM/ERP system
Enquiry Handling
- Respond promptly and professionally to incoming customer enquiries via phone, email and web
- Resolve enquiries directly where possible, or accurately triage and forward to the relevant technical, sales or support team
- Ensure every enquiry is logged and tracked to a satisfactory conclusion
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in an internal sales, sales support, account management or customer service role - ideally B2B
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident telephone manner
- Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail, particularly around order accuracy
- Comfortable working with CRM and order processing systems
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in a scientific, technical or manufacturing environment is an advantage but not essential
