The Job
We are looking for someone dependable, hard-working and capable of taking ownership of their workload. This is not an ad-hoc role for someone fitting in occasional hours around other commitments.
Responsibilities
- Year-end accounts preparation and submission
- Corporation Tax returns
- Self Assessment tax returns
- Bookkeeping and bookkeeping reviews
- Management accounts
- VAT returns
- Payroll
- Posting and reviewing double-entry journals
- Identifying errors, missing information and potential issues
- Managing deadlines and communicating progress clearly
Experience required
Candidates should ideally have experience within an accountancy practice or fast-paced commercial environment.
You should be confident using:
- Xero
- QuickBooks Online
- TaxFiler or IRIS Elements
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
What we are looking for
You must be:
- Reliable and able to commit to 20 hours every week
- Available to work during normal UK daytime hours
- Accurate, organised and comfortable working to deadlines
- Proactive and able to work without being regularly chased
- Confident managing several clients and assignments
- Able to take work from initial records through to completion
Working arrangements
The role will be offered on a freelance or subcontractor basis and can be completed remotely.
You will need a reliable internet connection, a suitable home-working environment and ideally your own laptop.
There is potential for the role to grow for someone who performs well and becomes a trusted member of the team.
