The Laleham is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patients and residents within care homes and home care settings. This role involves providing high-quality personal care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the well-being of those in your care. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Follow individualised care plans to ensure tailored support for each person
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and their families to ensure seamless care delivery
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support the organisation of activities and social engagement programmes
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including infection control procedure
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between locations
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen empathetically and convey information clearly
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in caring for others
