We are looking for an enthusiastic Plant Engineer to join our Larkfield Leisure Centre team on a full-time basis. Hours worked will predominantly be Monday to Friday and will entail starting at 6am. There may be a requirement for some weekend or evening working.
The Plant Engineer is responsible for the effective management, economic operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment at the Centre. You will be responsible for responding appropriately to all reactive maintenance issues in accordance with the agreed priority rating system and with a focus on the service provided to our customers. You will manage the computerised maintenance management system, undertake and record routine maintenance, manage the planned preventative maintenance schedule, and operate and maintain pool plant to ensure suitable water quality for bathers. You will also be the liaison with external contractors, whilst monitoring their work.
Candidates should have relevant previous experience of operating and maintaining commercial plant, and undertaking maintenance tasks, alongside knowledge of pool chemicals and dosing systems.
Candidates would ideally hold a Pool Plant Operators Certificate, however training will be provided to the right candidate.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
To be responsible for the effective management, economic operation and maintenance of all pool and general plant and equipment at the Centre.
Using the established computerised maintenance management system (FIIX)
o Respond appropriately to all reactive maintenance issues in accordance with the agreed priority rating system and with a focus on service provided.
o To undertake and review a programme of routine maintenance and ensure these are recorded as appropriate.
o To maintain full records of all repair and maintenance work carried out by external contractors including.
- Operate and maintain pool plant to ensure suitable pool water quality for bathers throughout operating hours of the swimming facilities.
- Undertake statutory checks and monitoring for Legionella, take appropriate action where readings are out of parameter and keep complete records of readings, checks and works undertaken.
- Liaise directly with the Client’s Property Services Department on plant related issues.
- To respond to requests for emergency technical support, this may require attending site outside of working hours
- Weekend and evening work may be required on occasion.
- To liaise as required with external contractors and monitor their work on site in accordance with agreed procedures.
- To act as an integrated senior member of the Centre Management Team.
o To provide written reports on specific maintenance issues and proposed actions as requested.
o To advise in respect of potential service improvements.
o To advise the in respect of relevant health and safety issues.
o To advise in respect of relevant environmental issues.
Ensure all plant environments are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
