This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering Lead to join the Data department within Digital, Data and Technology. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new data engineering capability from the ground up and play a leading role in the development of the University’s data warehouse and wider data platform.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Leading data warehouse design, standards and delivery

Building pipelines, transformations and curated warehouse layers

Driving data quality, resilience and operational support
You will have the chance to influence technical direction, establish standards and build high quality data solutions that support reporting, analytics and better decision making across the institution.

As Data Engineering Lead, you will have:

Experience in data engineering
-
Strong skills in data integration, pipeline development, transformation, data warehousing and technical leadership

Expertise in building scalable, reliable and well governed data solutions, with a strong grasp of data modelling, orchestration and modern cloud based data platforms
-
Experience working with multiple source systems and integrating enterprise data into reusable reporting or analytical structures.

Experience of working with business analysts, data managers, reporting teams and senior stakeholders to deliver data capability.

Experience of Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, SQL based warehousing, orchestration tools or comparable technologies.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non technical audiences and support informed decision making.
