Role Overview
As a Sales Coordinator, you'll provide administrative and operational support to the sales team while acting as a key point of contact for customers. You'll manage enquiries, prepare quotations, process orders and coordinate with purchasing, warehouse and production teams to ensure customers receive accurate information and excellent service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working with customers and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via telephone and email.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Provide product information, pricing and delivery updates.
- Resolve customer queries efficiently, escalating where necessary.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at every stage of the sales process.
Sales Support
- Prepare and issue customer quotations.
- Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor outstanding quotations and follow up where appropriate.
- Support the wider team with administration and customer communications.
- Assist with customer account management and sales reporting.
Order Management
- Liaise with warehouse, purchasing and production teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
- Keep customers informed of order progress and any delivery changes.
- Ensure all order documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate deliveries with transport providers where required.
Administration
- Maintain accurate customer records within the system.
- Produce sales reports and other business documentation.
- Assist with contract documentation and customer onboarding.
- Ensure filing and record-keeping are maintained to a high standard.
- Support general office administration as required.
Business Development Support
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional products and services.
- Assist with marketing campaigns and customer communications.
- Support lead generation and follow-up activities.
- Contribute ideas to improve customer experience and sales processes.
Team Working
- Work closely with colleagues across all departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a sales support, sales administration or customer service role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience using CRM or ERP systems.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, utilities or distribution.
- Knowledge of sales order processing.
- Experience preparing customer quotations.
