The role of the NRC Receptionist will be a key member of the team, welcoming patients, relatives, staff and students to the building on a daily basis with enthusiasm and professionalism.
You will be expected to work across our reception areas which span across 3 floors as a member of a wider reception, admin and clerical team. You will be actively involved in duties outlined in the attached Job Description, supporting the team to deliver innovation in rehabilitation care at a National Centre of Excellence.
You’ll need to have excellent communication, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload within a supportive team.
The NRC is a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world class rehabilitation facilities. Due to open late 2026.

To support the National Rehabilitation Team (NRC) team and provide reception and administration cover. The post holder will need to use their initiative to develop processes and ensure the effective provision of a quality service.
Greet patients; visitors, carers and other users at reception, check their personal details are correct, and if necessary, amend in Careflow/Nervecentre accordingly, ensuring patient confidentiality.
Using Careflow, Nervecentre or any other relevant electronic booking systems arrange appointments for follow up clinics, as instructed by the medical/nursing staff. Arrange transport as necessary.
Add follow ups to review lists for partially booked.
Assist the in-patient team in providing a welcoming environment for all patients and their families and friends. Facilitate communication with all the care professionals, service departments and relevant parties, receiving and relaying messages and other information.
Support the NRC team in delivering administrative support on a daily basis.
Deal appropriately with enquiries from staff and the general public, seeking advice or referring elsewhere if necessary.
