The Royal Surrey County Hospital Emergency Department cares for around 75,000 patients each year , delivering high quality, compassionate care to our local community. As our service continues to grow and evolve, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Emergency Care Practitioner (ENP/ECP/EPP) to join our dynamic and forward thinking team.
Our department has introduced innovative patient pathways that have significantly improved patient flow, experience and overall performance. We are seeking experienced autonomous practitioners who can provide patient centred assessment, examination, diagnosis, treatment, referral and discharge for patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses. You will work within locally agreed protocols and Patient Group Directives. Independent Nurse Prescribing is desirable but not essential.
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience working autonomously in an emergency environment
- Strong clinical decision making skills
- Excellent communication abilities and a positive, team focused attitude

The post holder will deliver autonomous patient care on a daily basis. The post holder is required to work at a standard where clinical and diagnostic skills are utilized competently and autonomously. The post holder will work in collaboration with the team to deliver a high quality service in order to meet the health and social care needs for patients attending the service.

Autonomously to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat and refer or discharge patients attending the Emergency Department, within the parameters of the Emergency Nurse/Care Practitioner (ENP/ECP) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) scope of practice. The post holder will be providing assessment, treatment, care and education to patients from all sections of the community, from infants to the elderly ensuring a high quality patient centered care. The post-holder may be required to work at any site where services are delivered by the Trust.
