Are you passionate about dance and eager to inspire others through movement? We are seeking a dynamic Freelance Dance Teacher to join Kelly's School of Dance on a part-time basis! In this role, you will lead engaging dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels, fostering a love for dance while helping individuals achieve their personal goals. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, energize learners, and contribute to a lively, creative environment. We are looking for someone who passionate about dance and enjoys working with children. Experience in teaching, Street and ideally ballet, tap, jazz would be beneficial.
Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring a positive learning experience
- Create choreography and lesson plans that align with class objectives and student needs
- Demonstrate proper dance techniques, posture, and movement to promote safety and effective learning
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to motivate students and build confidence
- Maintain a safe, welcoming environment that fosters creativity, respect, and enjoyment
- Track student progress and communicate with parents or guardians as needed (for youth classes)
- Stay current with dance trends, techniques, and best practices to continuously enhance teaching quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience teaching dance in various styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary or other relevant genres
- Strong knowledge of dance techniques, safety protocols, and instructional methods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and connect with students of all ages
- Ability to adapt lessons based on individual skill levels and learning styles
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills to manage scheduling and lesson planning effectively
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for class schedules
- Prior experience working as a freelance instructor or in a similar role is preferred but not required
