Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals in care home or home care settings. In this vital role, you will assist residents or clients with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their comfort and well-being. Responsibilities
- Support residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met according to care plans
- Help with household chores and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Follow care plans accurately to deliver consistent and personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clear understanding of care requirements
- Use IT systems to document care activities, update records, and report any concerns promptly
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as needed to promote social engagement and independence
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is preferred but not essential; training is provided
- Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving transportation of residents or clients
- Ability to communicate fluently in English with excellent listening skills
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
