We are seeking a dedicated Security Dog Handler to join our security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilising trained security dogs to safeguard premises, deter unauthorised access, and assist in loss prevention efforts. This role requires a vigilant individual with a strong sense of responsibility and excellent observational skills to ensure the safety of personnel and property. Duties
Conduct regular patrols of designated areas using trained security dogs to monitor for suspicious activity or unauthorised access.
Assist in loss prevention by deterring theft and apprehending individuals involved in unlawful activities.
Operate surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems to support security monitoring and incident investigations.
Respond promptly to security alarms or incidents, providing immediate assistance and coordination with law enforcement if necessary.
Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the security dog, including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring.
Participate in routine training exercises to maintain high standards of canine handling and security procedures.
Provide first aid assistance when required, ensuring prompt response to minor injuries or medical emergencies on site.
Skills
Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is highly desirable.
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques.
Ability to handle and work effectively with trained security dogs in various environments.
Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail.
Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and accurately.
Basic first aid knowledge to respond appropriately during emergencies.
Organised and disciplined approach to routine patrols and documentation.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
