Volunteer Executive Assistant to Founder/Director
Remote | Flexible Hours | Volunteer Position
I am looking for a highly organised, reliable and proactive Volunteer Executive Assistant to support me across a small portfolio of growing social-impact organisations.
This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to build practical experience in executive support, business administration, operations and working directly with a founder/director.
What you'll help with
Your responsibilities may include:
- Managing and organising my diary across multiple businesses
- Booking, confirming and rescheduling appointments and meetings
- Keeping track of important follow-ups and deadlines
- Drafting and sending routine emails on my behalf
- Following up with organisations, professionals and business contacts
- Maintaining organised records, documents and contact lists
- Helping me prioritise my weekly schedule
- Carrying out occasional research and administrative tasks
- Making professional telephone calls where appropriate
- Helping ensure important tasks don't fall through the cracks
Who I'm looking for
You don't necessarily need extensive Executive Assistant experience, but you must be:
- Extremely reliable and consistent
- Highly organised
- Professional and trustworthy
- Confident communicating by email and telephone
- Able to use initiative rather than waiting to be told every next step
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Able to manage confidential information appropriately
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, calendars and online systems
- A strong written and verbal communicator
Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
What you'll gain
This isn't a role where you'll simply be given repetitive admin tasks.
You'll work directly alongside a founder running businesses across SEND/specialist children's services, advocacy, sports and education/financial education, giving you exposure to the day-to-day realities of running and growing organisations.
For the right person, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility as trust and experience develop.
I am particularly interested in someone who wants to learn, contribute and grow with the organisations over time.
Commitment
Initially, I am looking for approximately 10 hours per week, remotely, with availability during UK working hours (e.g. 10-1pm, 3 days each week).
This is currently a voluntary/unpaid position, so please only apply if that arrangement genuinely works for you.
How to apply
Please send a short introduction explaining:
- A little about yourself and your current situation
- Why this opportunity interests you
- Any relevant administration, EA, customer service or business experience
- Your weekly availability
- Your time zone/location
- An example of a situation where you had to organise something or solve a problem without being given step-by-step instructions
Please don't send a generic application. I'm looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the opportunity and has taken the time to understand the role.
