About Us
The award-winning Italian Villa at Compton Acres is one of Dorset's leading wedding and events venues. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie with a passion for pastry to join our kitchen team. This flexible role will have a focus on preparing desserts and baked goods for weddings, events and café service, whilst supporting the wider kitchen when required.
Role Purpose
To prepare and present high-quality pastry, desserts and baked products, while supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food across weddings, events and café service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake and present desserts, pastries and sweet products to a consistently high standard.
- Support the Head Chef with food preparation and service for weddings, events and café operations.
- Assist with developing seasonal dessert menus and new recipes.
- Ensure all dietary requirements and allergens are catered for accurately.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate stock and help minimise food waste.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods and assist other sections when required.
- Follow all food safety, HACCP, COSHH and health & safety procedures.
- Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
About You
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, or an experienced Commis Chef looking to progress.
- A passion for pastry, baking and dessert presentation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices.
- Flexible and reliable, with availability to work weekends and evenings.
Working Hours
This is a flexible position, with hours varying to meet the demands of weddings, events and café service. Weekend and evening availability is essential.
