Responsibilities
- Assist in developing detailed CAD drawings and schematics for fire alarm systems using industry-standard software.
- Support the preparation of design layouts and technical documentation aligned with project specifications.
- Accurate take-off's of existing design drawings
- Review of and understanding of Technical Specifications
- Collaborate with senior technicians to review plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety regulations.
- Gain exposure to software tools such as AutoCAD, Fire Alarm Graphics Sofware and SolidWorks for various design tasks.
- Participate in site visits to understand construction processes and gather data for accurate design inputs.
- Contribute to the review of construction & design drawings and assist in resolving design issues during project execution.
- Create As-Fitted Drawings post contract.
- Build Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
- Provide Technical Submittal Documents pre-contract start.
- Design Cause & Effects Matrix.
- Learn about fire alarm system components, schematics, and installation procedures through hands-on experience.
- Take part in formal Fire Alarm Qualifications on Design to enable production of BAFE SP203 Design Certification.
- Contribute positively to our friendly and supportive team.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD; is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of construction processes and experience or interest in construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Microsoft Office Skills and experience are essential.
- Good written and spoken communication skills, to collaborate effectively with team members and client.
- Eagerness to learn industry-standard software tools.
- Agile enough to adopt our processes with the aid of AI
- Ability to follow instructions carefully while developing technical solutions for fire alarm systems.
- Prior exposure or interest in fire safety systems or electrical schematics is advantageous but not required.
