Job Title: Courier Manager
We're looking for an organised, commercially minded and proactive Courier Manager to take ownership of our courier network and help us deliver an outstanding service to our customers.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating the best commercial agreements and using data to drive improvements. You'll be responsible for ensuring we use the right courier, at the right price, with the right level of service, while continually looking for ways to improve performance and reduce costs.
Working closely with our Warehouse, Customer Service and Finance teams, you'll become the company's expert on all things transport and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
You'll have overall responsibility for our courier strategy and day-to-day courier management, including:
- Developing and maintaining the company's courier strategy to ensure we're using the most appropriate carriers and service levels.
- Building and managing strong relationships with our courier partners.
- Negotiating pricing, contracts and service level agreements.
- Monitoring courier performance and holding regular performance reviews.
- Analysing delivery performance, costs and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Managing courier-related customer complaints, including lost, damaged or delayed deliveries.
- Raising, monitoring and resolving courier claims, ensuring claims are submitted within required timescales.
- Working closely with our Warehouse team to manage returned deliveries and investigate unlogged returns.
- Reviewing courier invoices and investigating any pricing discrepancies or anomalies.
- Producing reports on courier performance, costs and key performance indicators.
- Identifying opportunities to improve service levels, reduce transport costs and enhance the customer experience.

Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Previous experience in a courier, logistics, transport or supply chain role.
- Experience managing supplier or courier relationships.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Experience analysing performance data and producing reports.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution or warehousing.
- Experience managing transport contracts.
- Experience handling courier claims and service investigations.
- Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems.
