About Yes Computers
Since 1996, Yes Computers Limited has delivered honest, reliable IT support and expert advice to residential and business clients. Based in Stourbridge, we are an independent business celebrating 30 years of service.
We are a forward-thinking, technology-centric business driven by success and engineered solutions. We reject generic, off-the-shelf options unless they genuinely serve as the best solution for the client. Our team operates with an engineering mindset to deliver bespoke PC systems, managed business IT support, networking, hardware and software repairs, and data recovery.
The Opportunity and Environment
Working with us will develop your deep understanding of technology integration. You will work directly with hardware and software across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, whilst building solutions in cloud infrastructure and on-premises virtualisation.
We support a diverse range of clients both remotely and onsite, including contracted, ad hoc, business, and residential customers. These clients have varying levels of technical understanding. We maintain a relaxed work environment focused entirely on output and completion, strictly avoiding micromanaging. You will have dedicated freedom to focus on self-development during working hours.
The Day-to-Day Role
You will manage assigned technical support tickets. This is a customer-facing role where your daily responsibilities will flow progressively based on client needs, including:
- Answering the phone and handling initial client enquiries.
- Taking full ownership of hardware and software issues on end-user systems, driving the process from initial diagnostic through to complete repair.
- Travelling onsite to deliver technical support directly to business clients.
We value technical precision over speed; delivering robust solutions and a high standard of workmanship is our priority. During technical waiting periods or system downtime, you have the autonomy to research new ideas, provide feedback, and help shape our operational workflows.
Who We Are Looking For
We prioritise mindset, accountability, and a drive for success over existing technical knowledge. Full training for the core job role is provided.
We are not looking for an individual who sees this opportunity as a temporary stepping stone. This role is built for someone who wants to invest long-term, grow with the company.
The ideal candidate must possess:
- Strong communication skills to assist clients with differing technical backgrounds.
- A self-driven approach to learning, with a habit of active note-taking.
- A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability for their work.
Beneficial Skills
Previous knowledge or experience in any of the following areas is beneficial but not mandatory, as full training will be provided:
- Managed services, Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Computer hardware knowledge and general repair experience.
- Cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure).
- Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisors.
- scripting knowledge.
- Web development.
- AI tools and large language models.
- Automation workflows.
- Network infrastructure and general troubleshooting (including peripherals and printers).
Licence and Travel Requirements
A driving licence is beneficial for onsite visits. Candidates actively working to pass their driving test will also be considered. All travel expenses, including fuel and train tickets, are fully covered by the company.
