Hours: 32.5 hours per month
Working Pattern: Typically Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work during events.
Monday-Thursday 7.30-8.30am
Friday 6-9.30pm
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day operation of Wake House. This is a part-time role involving general maintenance, basic DIY, room set-up for events, and ensuring the building remains safe, secure, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out basic DIY and maintenance tasks
- Prepare and set up rooms for events
- Undertake basic gardening duties to maintain outdoor areas
- Assist with painting and decorating as required
- Ensure the building is safe, secure, and well-maintained
- Carry out routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and compliance tasks
- Identify, report, and respond to hazards or maintenance issues in line with health and safety procedures
- Unlocking and locking up the building when required
- Provide occasional cover during staff holidays
- Support events, including occasional weekend working
Person Specification
- Practical skills in DIY and general maintenance
- Basic understanding of health and safety requirements although full training will be given
- Reliable, and able to work independently but also as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills

- Occasional weekend work may be required during events/ holiday cover
