The Role
Are you a natural leader with a passion for South African heritage? We are looking for a Retail Store Manager who can maintain the perfect balance between high-energy retail and the welcoming, familial atmosphere our customers love.
As the face of the shop, you aren’t just managing a till; you’re curated an experience. You’ll be responsible for everything from the precision of the slice to the warmth of the "Howzit!" when a customer walks through the door.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily opening and closing procedures to ensure the shop is always "braai-ready."
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure we never run out of the favorites—from traditional dry wors to chili bites.
- The Craft: Master the art of slicing biltong to customer specifications while maintaining strict food safety standards.
- Financial Oversight: Perform daily cash-ups and ensure all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
- Visual Merchandising: Maintain eye-catching product displays that celebrate South African food culture.
- Customer Connection: Build a loyal community through authentic, friendly interactions and expert product knowledge.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Cultural Connection: A deep understanding of South African culture and food is essential.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Afrikaans is a significant advantage.
- Experience: Proven experience in a retail or food service management role.
- Soft Skills: A "people person" who thrives in a busy environment but stays calm under pressure.
- Reliability: You are the heartbeat of the store; punctuality and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable.
