About the role
- We're looking for someone who is confident working at heights.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence.
- This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, working one Saturday every four Saturdays.
- In return you'll receive £28,000 - £30,000, based on experience.
- Full training and induction are provided, in your first weeks, you'll shadow an experienced member of the team to learn the ropes.
- Full support is provided to help you pass your initial course before you begin working on your own but with ongoing support of your team mentor at the end of the phone.
- Typical jobs include rodent/insect control, birdproofing and netting, pest identification, inspection visits and much more.
- This role will include an element of working at height to install a birdproofing system to solar panels - Full training will be provided.
- We pride ourselves on being a ‘best practice’ company, using ethical control methods that are fully compliant with legislation.
- Many duties will be in the Bristol/Bath area, with some jobs requiring more travel.
- You’ll need a full UK driving licence – a company van and mobile phone is provided.
- In return, you’ll get 20 days of paid holiday (in addition to public holidays).
Responsibilities
- You’ll be responsible for attending each job to carry out environmental surveys, risk assessments, investigation of the pests and outlining appropriate treatment required.
- On completion of each visit, you’re expected to complete a digital evaluation report.
- You’ll maintain your booking schedules and communication with customers.
- Key activities will include: Rodent treatment programmes, heat treatment of Bed Bugs, insect spraying for Fleas, Moths, Flies, Silverfish and more. In the summer months, you’ll tend to Wasps, Ants and Bees. Plus, we specialise in Bird prevention methods, such as Bird Netting, Bird Wire systems and Bird Spikes.

About you
Qualification Requirements: RSPH/BPCA (Level 2) is essential for the qualified position moving forward but we will provide you with all the training if you don't already hold the qualification.
You'll receive full training to ensure safe practices when working at heights to complete birdproofing jobs.
Good customer experience is essential and full additional training will be provided. The role involves a mixture of one-off and regular visits – you will be the ‘face’ of The Bristol Pest Controller and so an ability to deal well with the public is important. You’ll need to be able to communicate well and sympathetically with different types of customers, both face-to-face and in writing. Above all, we are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, and able to work reliably and independently.
