- Ensure transport and linehaul plans support operational requirements and service commitments.
- Proactively identify and resolve network flow, timing, and capacity constraints.
- Develop and maintain network flow models, planning assumptions, and operational timing standards.

- Lead planning and operational readiness for Peak, Bank Holidays, Pay Weeks, and other major trading events.
- Build robust, data-led operational plans that balance forecast demand, capacity, and processing capability.
- Ensure plans are risk-assessed, deliverable, and supported with clear contingency measures.
- Conduct post-event reviews, identifying opportunities for learning and continuous improvement.
Planning Leadership & Decision Support
- Act as a senior authority on operational planning, providing challenge, insight, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Translate complex operational and forecast data into actionable decisions.
- Lead scenario planning, risk analysis, and plan-versus-actual reviews to drive performance improvements.
- Support strategic planning initiatives and governance activities alongside the Head of Operational Planning.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships across Transport, Hubs, Depots, Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Clearly communicate risks, trade-offs, and recommended actions.
- Drive accountability and alignment to ensure successful plan delivery.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency, transport utilisation, and operational readiness.
- Support the development of planning tools, reporting frameworks, and planning standards.
- Drive initiatives that improve service levels, network resilience, and overall operational performance.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Significant experience in operational, network, transport, or supply chain planning environments.
- Strong understanding of linehaul planning, transport scheduling, warehouse processing, and volume forecasting.
- Proven experience managing Peak periods or large-scale operational events.

- Evidence of continued professional development within planning or operational roles.
Skills & Behaviours

- Advanced Excel skills including modelling, scenario planning, and performance analysis.
