Sign Maker / Assembly Operative
Location: Whetstone, Leicester
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time

HSL Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Sign Maker / Assembly Operative to join our client's established signage manufacturing team in Whetstone, Leicester.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good practical skills, strong attention to detail and an interest in working within a busy manufacturing and production environment.
You will be involved in the manufacture, assembly and preparation of a variety of signage products, working as part of a team to ensure finished products are completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble a range of signs and signage products
- Prepare materials for production and assembly
- Work with materials including aluminium, acrylic, plastics and vinyl
- Apply vinyl graphics and signage finishes accurately
- Use hand tools and basic workshop equipment safely
- Assist with cutting, drilling, fixing and finishing signage
- Read and follow basic drawings, measurements and production specifications
- Carry out quality checks throughout the production process
- Ensure finished products meet the required quality standards
- Keep the workshop and work area clean, organised and safe
- Work to production deadlines and customer requirements
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and completed signage
- Prepare finished signage for delivery or installation
- Follow all company health & safety procedures
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in sign making, manufacturing, assembly or a similar hands-on environment
- Have good practical and manual skills
- Be confident using hand tools and workshop equipment
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be able to work from measurements, instructions and basic drawings
- Take pride in producing quality finished products
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Be comfortable working to deadlines in a busy production environment
Previous sign-making experience would be advantageous, but candidates with relevant experience in manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, joinery, graphics or other practical workshop environments will also be considered.
