Workshop Joinery, Production & Dispatch Operative
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and practical Workshop Joinery, Production & Dispatch Operative to assist with the day-to-day running of our workshop.
The ideal candidate will have previous joinery, carpentry or woodworking experience and be confident using workshop machinery and hand tools. The role involves manufacturing sauna bench slats, timber cladding, wooden frames and other bespoke products, as well as packing orders, maintaining stock and keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe.
Main Duties
- Measuring, marking, cutting, sanding and preparing timber accurately to the required sizes and finish.
- Manufacturing sauna bench slats, sauna cladding, timber frames and other bespoke wooden products.
- Using woodworking machinery such as table saws, mitre saws, planers, routers, sanders and drills safely and accurately.
- Assembling timber products using fixings, adhesives and suitable joinery methods.
- Checking measurements, angles, finishes and completed products against job sheets and customer requirements.
- Carrying out basic repairs, adjustments and finishing work where required.
- Applying oils, stains, paints or protective finishes to timber products.
- Assisting with the production of Himalayan salt frames, salt walls and other bespoke customer orders.
- Checking all products for quality before packing and dispatch.
- Packing customer orders securely and preparing them for courier collection or delivery.
- Loading and unloading timber, salt bricks, stock and other materials.
- Organising timber, fixings, adhesives, tools and workshop materials.
- Assisting with stock checks and reporting damaged materials, low stock or machinery issues.
- Keeping machinery, workbenches, storage areas and the workshop clean, tidy and safe.
- Removing waste materials and maintaining clear working areas.
- Supporting the wider team to ensure orders are completed on time and to a high standard.
Skills and Requirements
- Previous joinery, carpentry, woodworking or workshop manufacturing experience is required.
- Confident using woodworking machinery and hand tools safely.
- Ability to read measurements, cutting lists, drawings and job sheets accurately.
- Good practical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce neat, accurate and high-quality work.
- Experience cutting and working with hardwood timber would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of sanding, assembling, finishing and preparing timber products.
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry and move materials safely.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within agreed timescales.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist with different workshop, warehouse and dispatch duties.
- Forklift experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Working Hours
Working hours will be agreed depending on the role, workload and business requirements.
Pay
Pay will be based on experience, woodworking skills and performance.
Pay: £305.04-£457.56 per week
