Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee daily food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality specifications and customer expectations
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards, storage procedures, and allergen management
- Develop and implement innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise kitchen operations
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on professional development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in the preparation of specialised dishes during busy service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with industry standards
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in managing teams
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Experience in restaurant service or hospitality is advantageous
