Primary Pools delivers swimming lessons directly to schools using our mobile swimming pool system, helping children gain water confidence and meet the national curriculum standard.
We’re expanding our delivery teams nationwide and are looking for reliable, enthusiastic professionals to join us for our Leicestershire project this year.
Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pool visitors. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, promoting safety standards and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be attentive to detail, and hold relevant first aid qualifications. Previous experience in water safety or compliance management is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Monitor pool areas continuously to ensure the safety of all swimmers and visitors
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, administering first aid when necessary
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the pool area and equipment
- Maintain clear communication with team members and visitors regarding safety procedures
- Keep accurate records of incidents and safety checks
- Assist with organising swimming lessons or aquatic programmes as required
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the pool deck and surrounding areas
Requirements
- Valid first aid certification recognised in the UK
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with visitors and team members
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
- Knowledge of compliance management related to health and safety standards in aquatic environments (preferred)
- Prior experience as a lifeguard or in water safety roles is desirable but not mandatory, as training will be provided
- Physical fitness to perform rescue operations, including swimming and lifting tasks
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary
