Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and those receiving home care services. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to individual care plans.
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, noting any changes or concerns to senior staff.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and documentation tools.
- Engage in meaningful communication with clients, providing companionship and emotional support.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Support the organisation of activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Skills
- Previous experience or interest in working within a care home or home care setting is desirable.
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and convey information clearly.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with vulnerable individuals.
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving client transportation or community visits.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
