Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient 'all rounder' Front of HouseCafe / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food service and eager to contribute to a welcoming environment for our customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a small team and contribute to the overall success of the farm shop and cafe.
Duties
- Help coordinate daily activities to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages in accordance with company standards
- Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure quality and hygiene during peak times and holiday cover
- Serve customers courteously and efficiently, taking orders and handling transactions
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and equipment throughout shifts
- Restock supplies and ensure all areas are organised and shopable
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with additional tasks as required
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and food safety standards is beneficial
- Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
- Basic kitchen experience or culinary background essential with additional chef or baking skills advantageous
- A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role
- Proven experience within a retail or hospitality/kitchen environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to inspire a team
- Previous experience in visual merchandising or stock management is desirable
