Job Overview
As a One to One Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in the early development and care of a child with additional needs in a nursery setting.
The role is 4.15 hours per day on a Tuesday & Friday. The hours are from 1pm to 5.15pm (with some flexibility). Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the child can learn and grow. You will work closely with this child, supporting their emotional, social, and educational development while ensuring their wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for the child in the nursery, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Observe and assess progress, maintaining accurate records of development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships and support children's needs.
- Manage daily routines including meal times and play activities to ensure a structured environment.
- Support the child to develop social skills through play and interaction with peers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery environment to promote health and safety standards.
Skills
- A passion for childcare or early childhood education is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working with young children in a nursery or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine drive to support children's learning and development through creative play and structured activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
