Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and excellent communication skills in English. As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition. This role is essential for our operations, and we are looking for someone who is dedicated to providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate delivery vehicles, including vans and lorries, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle to uphold company standards.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
Requirements
- Valid D1 driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is advantageous but not essential.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all aspects of driving and delivery tasks.
