Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic in a Dementia Care Home to join our vibrant team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks across all areas of the care home, including resident rooms, communal spaces, kitchens, and bathrooms
- Ensure all cleaning procedures adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control protocols
- Maintain high standards of hygiene through regular sanitation of surfaces, equipment, and shared facilities
- Assist with laundry duties to keep residents’ clothing and linens fresh and clean
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and report needs for replenishment promptly
- Support staff with additional janitorial tasks during busy periods or special events
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to management for swift resolution
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably within healthcare or care home settings
- Knowledge of infection control standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience working in hospital environments or similar healthcare facilities is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Good physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that require standing, bending, and lifting throughout shifts
