- Analyse production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or redesign.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity modelling to support operational planning.
- Optimise material flow, layout, and workstation design to improve ergonomics and throughput.
- Partner with Production to validate process changes and ensure robust implementation.
- Lead CI and engineering projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Collect and interpret production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Champion GBS and the use of Lean tools (5S, SMED, visual management, standard work) to deliver sustainable improvements across the site
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to support decision making and performance tracking.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through scrap reduction, cycle time optimisation, and improved asset utilisation.
- Collaborate with Quality to improve process capability, reduce defects, and strengthen control plans.
- Ensure all improvements align with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements relevant to plastics manufacturing.
- Lead a small engineering team, provide day to day leadership, setting priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery of engineering and CI projects.
- Coach engineers, supervisors, and operators in CI methods to strengthen problem solving skills and embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the site.
- Prepare business cases, ROI calculations, and project documentation.
