Aspira Education are recruiting for a passionate PE / Sports Teacher to work within a specialist PRU setting supporting pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs.

About the Role
As a PE / Sports Teacher you will:
- Deliver engaging PE and sports sessions tailored to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers within mainstream education.
- Promote teamwork, resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation through sport.
- Use strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and structured environment.
- Adapt lessons to suit varying abilities and individual needs.
- Encourage participation, routine, and positive engagement across the school day.
- Work closely with support staff and leadership teams to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
No two days are the same, so flexibility, resilience, and confidence are essential.
About the School
This role is based within a specialist alternative provision in Wolverhampton supporting pupils aged 11–16.
The setting provides a structured and supportive environment for pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and educational support outside of mainstream school.
The school focuses heavily on relationship-building, consistency, emotional wellbeing, and helping pupils re-engage positively with education.
What We’re Looking For

- Qualified PE Teachers
- Sports Coaches
- Behaviour Mentors
- Alternative Provision or PRU experience
- Youth Work or SEN education
You must:
✔ Be confident managing challenging behaviour
✔ Have strong communication and classroom management skills
✔ Build rapport quickly with young people
✔ Be calm, resilient, and adaptable
✔ Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
Experience within SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings is highly desirable.

- The right to work in the UK
- A fully enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two recent references
- A willingness to complete safeguarding training with Aspira
- Ability to start Monday 11th May
