Shift Pattern: 5 Days a week, 7:30am - 4pm. NO EVENINGS OR SPLIT SHIFTS
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Breakfast/Lunch Chef to join our catering team and support the delivery of a high-quality food service within a busy café and sports centre environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking fresh breakfast and lunchtime offerings, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and contributing to a welcoming and efficient customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a range of breakfast/brunch & lunch dishes to a consistently high standard
- Support menu planning and daily specials using fresh, high quality ingredients
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in line with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment at all times
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise wastage
- Cater for dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency
- Support café events
- Work collaboratively with front of house staff to deliver excellent customer service
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or catering environment
- Ability to prepare fresh breakfast and lunch menus in a fast-paced setting
- Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen management
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Positive attitude, sense of humour, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work weekends
- Passion for fresh food and quality service
- Friendly and professional manner
- Self-motivated with good attention to detail
- Calm under pressure and able to work efficiently during peak periods
