ROLE: Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer
HOURS: Core working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, with a certain degree of flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
LOCATION: Field-based mobile position covering the Highlands and Islands on the Scottish Government contract. Sites covered from Inverness to Thurso and in between.

We're looking for a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer who can take their hand to a number of tasks in a timely manner, working across the Highlands and Islands on the Scottish Government contract with a great client as part of a new team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide a reactive and planned pro-active maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements to all operational assets, delivering a multi-skilled maintenance service which covers basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building fabric disciplines, and carrying out repairs as and whenrequired.
- Liaise with contractors or external suppliers whererequired and clearly communicate technical issues; maintain equipment supported by sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills, raising issues as required to the shift supervisor on a timely basis; and provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, companypolicies and procedures, while maximising availability of all plant and equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance, improved efficiencies and cost reductions.
- Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators (KPI) / service level agreements (SLA) are met; take ownership of tools and equipment provided and ensure they are maintained to an appropriate standard, reporting any defects immediately; ensure regular feedback on issues arising before, during and following completed work activities.
- Complete any required paperwork and reports accurately and on a timely basis; complete required training and development in order to remain competent in the role; complete other duties as required and directed by the Regional Operations Supervisor or members of the Management Team; support business continuity planning; provide flexible cover for holidays and sickness absence; complete documentation as required, including RAMS, and adhere to all associated permits; provide excellent customer service to building occupants; and proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
Health & Safety:
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times, comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment, and report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly andin accordance with training received, ensuring your own work and the work of those under supervision is completed in a safe and diligent manner.
Required Qualifications: applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
- Experience of working within commercial properties and installations, with a good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within the role, and good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
- Ability to effectively prioritise own workload, record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems, and provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progressin a timely manner.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change, with a flexible approach to work and working hours, subject to the EU Working Time Directive, alongside a pro-active and positive approach to work and self-motivation.
- Good communicationskills and the ability to work within a team, presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence, be responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments, follow HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements, and be able to do the job right and do it right first time within a pre-determined timescale.
