Bewdley Carnival is a long-standing community event, and following a successful centenary celebration, we are now seeking dedicated individuals to join our organising committee for the year ahead.
The Role
Committee members meet once a month for approximately two hours to plan and coordinate all aspects of the carnival. Commitment increases as we approach the event, with additional meetings and preparation required from June onwards. All committee members are expected to be available and actively involved across the carnival weekend itself.
Areas of Involvement
Depending on interest and experience, committee members may contribute to:
- Event planning and logistics
- Marketing, communications, and social media
- Trader and vendor coordination
- Health and safety, including marshalling arrangements
- Fundraising and sponsorship
- Financial administration
- Volunteer coordination
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from local residents with an interest in community events. No specific qualifications are required, though the following would be beneficial:
- Reliability and a willingness to commit to monthly meetings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Availability during carnival weekend
- Relevant experience in any of the above areas (though not essential)
Why Join
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in a well-established community tradition, contribute your skills to a worthwhile cause, and work alongside a committed local team.
