Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of 'hot' and 'grab & go' foods, including hot breakfast and lunch, sandwiches, and assembling ready-to-eat pastas, noodles and salad items with precision and care
- Serve customers with enthusiasm, offering product recommendations and upselling where appropriate to enhance their experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage inventory levels, restock displays, and ensure freshness of all products
- Assist in food safety procedures such as proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Support kitchen operations by following recipes, portioning ingredients accurately, and managing time efficiently during busy periods
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but we also welcome eager learners ready to develop their culinary skills
- Familiarity with food safety practices and standards is advantageous
- Basic math skills are essential for measuring ingredients accurately
- Kitchen or culinary experience will help you excel in multitasking and maintaining quality standards under pressure
- Strong time management skills are necessary to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours
